Default Do certain players take the game seriously or its just me?

Well it all began on a peaceful AB match, I was doing what I always do in AB, cap shrines and stuff and so this (apparently) professional player starts to talk, check the chatlog below for full story.

From his talk he claims I did nothing and he just cried all the time in his comments.
I would like to know how seriously players take the game when they play.

Taking the game seriously is one thing, taking the game TOO seriously is another. If you want to dictate how someone else plays a char then I suggest using heroes or henchies! They'll take orders marginally better than humans and then you can whine about their AI when you fail!

Not only is he overracting, but he fails to understand a warrior's place in PvP. Does he think if the warrior runs he'll draw aggro?

Warriors don't always equal a tank. Tanking is stupid anyway in pvp.

Hmm, high health high armor warrior sitting in a shrine soaking up damage...what kind of moron would attack a tank sitting in a shrine instead of attacking the soft monk and sin in his group?

That guy is a mook and a half.

Yea, i think this guy doesn't exactly know what to do. to win you CAP, which is the only way possible to win.

On a side note WTF is wrong with this guy... you get what, faction points from winning? and you get some from losing too! I would definitely understand this if I was playing FoW...but this... come on. Of course maybe its the long wait to get there, i remember having to wait 30 minutes due to the shortage of players in AB, but...yea stupid

Yes, the guy is stupid, no question, but what do you want us to do about it? Humans are human.

Lol. This doesn't really fit here, but should be int he screenshots section. I'm pretty sure there's something that fits for this.

Maybe if you brought mending, he wouldn't of raged.

So you ran into some tool who can't understand one thing about the class he's playing and basic PvP tactics and exchanged some insults. Coincidentally this happened in the glorious battle of alliances where the cream of Guild Wars is known to meet. How tragic. I guess the reputable Odin's Eternal Kingdom guild isn't so virtuous after all, what a shocking turn of events.

Players who take GW seriously are those who use it to make RL money ie. gold farmers.

I think GW community is, in general, kind of elitist. It's like we are part of a secret cult of enlighted few.

WoW, childish as it is, have a more relaxed atmosphere (in general)

Wrong.
GW's community is so stupid We appear elitist.
or were so smart we appear elitist >.>

WoW's community consists of "Omfg I used to play runescape but now I play wow" and "I used to cut my wrists, but now I play wow and cut"

Bet just not to bring up WoW here.

LOL NO

Yes, GW is somewhat elitist. It can be expected from any MMORPG that a few people will be elitist about maximizing potential and whatever else.

But WoW has a WAY MORE tense atmosphere. People go at each others throats, drama is everywhere and it tears guilds apart often. I remember seeing someone post on the WoW forums that one of his ex-guild members was literally crying on ventrillo because someone was replacing him in a raid.

GW is a godsend compared to that horrible game and horrible community.

I think GW community is a biiiiiiit smart then, let say, WoW community. My girlfriend could play WoW and kill boars and make pretty dresses.

GW is hard enough to cut some people away. What is left, however, think they are playing 3d chess with their eye closed.

Just ask anybody what they think of Random Arena. The answer will show what kinda of community we have.

Bottom point: You can't play GW "for fun".

Thats why I put "in general".

All crazyness in WoW in concentred in raids. The raid scene is full of drama, elitism and crazyness.

BUT...

If you don't raid, you are free of it and raid is just a part of the game.

You can, just don't expect people to agree with you on your opinion of fun. Of course you aren't going to have any fun if you QQ anytime someone says you are bad, just play.

I can (and do play) for fun, but the topic in question is about the community and it won't allow you to play "for fun".

PvE is hard enough to require attention and skill, and PvP is competitive.

Not saying it worse then any other competitive game thou.
